In April 2007, Yamaha gave Carlos A. Avelar and his company, House of Finishes, a new 2007 Yamaha R1 to be custom built for MotoGP. Carlos used this bike as the canvas for his vision of the History of Yamaha Motorcycle Road Racing in America from 1967-1984 as a tribute to Yamaha for the gift of this motorcycle. Project sponsors united to complete this project in time for the July 2007 MotoGP event. At the race event, the motorcycle was signed by several riders that were featured on the bike including: Don Emde 1972, Steve Baker 1977-78 and Kel Carruthers 1971-72.
